We have just started the new school year 2022/23 in the English-speaking Gdynia International School! All the students and their parents were welcomed by Kevin D’Arcy, the founder and director of Gdynia International School, who presented the teachers and employees and introduced the educational principles of the school.
Kevin D’Arcy: This is a very exciting moment for GIS. Last year we started with 18 children in the Primary School at Kapitańska. We ended the year with 30 children. For now we have the preschool and the school in one place. This September we have over 100 children at Kapitańska.We were busy over the summer preparing for our expansion. This will continue and soon we will have an additional playground for both the Preschool and the School. Our school community is growing and becoming more international with parents, staff and children include people from: Poland, the UK, Australia, Latvia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Belarus, Brazil, Peru, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and India. Our main languages of communication are English and Polish. Now, our 3rd language of communication is Russian as we have staff, parents and children from Russia, Ukraine, Latvia and Belarus.
Our educational techniques are based on the best Polish and international standards. Children will learn not only on the basis of the Polish and British curriculum, but also they will participate in many extra activities and clubs. We have lots of space in the building, there is an intimate and family atmosphere.
